On Monday, we presented this week’s shifter and asked you to identify the make and model of the vehicle whence it came. While many of you thought the car was a Mazda, commenter eunos (speaking of Mazda) correctly identified it as a Ford Thunderbird S/C, although the shifter shown is from an ’89, not a ’93 as he guessed. But we call that close enough, and eunos will receive a Save the Manuals button and sticker as a reward.
The Thunderbird photos you see here are from Ford’s press materials, but we were able to sample a similar car in our July 1988 issue. The 10th-gen T-bird featured a more aerodynamic body and was one of the only rear-wheel drive domestic cars available at the time.
