Darren Bratton 5pts Surprised Nemesis hasn't been used....that's what Hyundai shoulda called the Genesis coupe....IMHO....
faire 5pts Any name void of acronyms and numbers that you can actually find in a dictionary or atlas would be a dramatic improvement over the made-up alphanumeric soup that automakers currently use. Also: drop the pointless engine displacement & turbo placards. What a waste of plastic.
TheCatholicBoat 5pts It may have already been proposed on here, but I think Chrysler should call dibs on the name Emperor and use it when they re-launch the Imperial line; you know, their true luxury brand.
edkich 5pts Rolls Royce - PALLADIUM Ferrari - Verrazzano (Instead of FF)or compact SUVPontiac - Vomit (Instead of Aztec)(sorry ,i had to)
Lafond66 5pts Has for car names why the Honda Accord & Toyota Camry are the best salling cars is they do not change the name all the time as the do's Ford Chevy Dodge had the Dodge Aries then the Dodge Spirt then the Dodge Stratus then the Dodge Avenger were the Honda Accord stayed the Accord so people buy one and remember the name as it was a good car then thy buy a new one Ford was going to call the 2013 Ford Fusion the Ford Mondeo as it is the in the UK for meny years were it sell well there
TheCatholicBoat 5pts For that reason, it always bothered me when the Fusion came out in '05 and the name Taurus eventually moved up to the full-size model. I've always thought the Fusion would have done a lot better if it had gotten the Taurus name from the start in the US, because long-standing names resonate with people, and a given name takes a long time to get established in the minds of the people. And let's not forget that for an entire generation, the Taurus was the best-selling car in America. The car that now has the Taurus name should have been called the LTD instead of the Five Hundred, and then Taurus, for the same reason.
jbernard 5pts I'm amazed that I haven't seen a car named "Python", in a sense the ram srt10 could've been dubbed "Python" as a larger more utilitarian version of the viper. Lamborghini Teras (greek word for beast) for their upcoming SUV. Its more generic than their god and bull motifs but I think not sounding like a reproductive organ is a decent place to start. Jeep Appalachian as a small crossover. I believe it is more in order than "Compass" and "Patriot" in my opinion, especially so with Patriot, as something tells me "Patriot" and "Cherokee" don't necessarily share the parking lot willingly. As someone mentioned Stallion below, its a good name but the connotation may cause it to be confused with a Ferrari, as they're affectionately called "Italian Stallion". A fun cute-ute from...Toyota
jbernard 5pts meant to delete the detail about the toyota but, since I mentioned it, Toyota Fuji? Not sure if the Fuji name has been used...
TheCatholicBoat 5pts Python would be an excellent name for a Raptor competitor from either Ram or GM.
Skywarped 5pts Pioneer (though I'm pretty sure Jeep used that as a trim package on the older Cherokees)
Skywarped 5pts @Brion Alexander Knoblock I think Ford did exactly that, but overseas. I think it's the equivalent of the Expedition EL
xxunderclassheroxx 5pts @Brion Alexander Knoblock Look up the Ford Everest Concept, it's a Ranger Based SUV
redbloodedxy 5pts Chevrolet Croissant - city carBuick Orca - luxury crossoverCadillac XTS-XT - hearse
Ryan Shedlock 5pts Chevelle Really Really thought the Chevrolet SS would of had a Chevelle badge, especially considering that its intended to go head to head with loaded Charger R/T''s and SRT8's
giallofly 5pts I am glad I am not the one trying to come up with new names. Maybe that is why companies are going to generic sounding names like CTS and MKZ. I personally still like Coupe de Ville, and Town Car. Some possibilities? Hornet (wasn't that already a Rambler), Sidewinder, Rattler, Mamba, Grizzly, Gazelle, Bison, Palomino, Rocket, Archer, Sportsman. None of them sound as good as any current or past names.
masermanjem 5pts I've always kind of wished that Dodge would have built the Copperhead concept from the 90's. Actually surprised that never used the name. Boomslang would also be a good name for a baby Viper since it keeps with the whole venomous snake theme.
MunaH 5pts Vortex, Predator, Ocelot, Cheetah, etc. I really like Ocelot as well, but I fear it would be too similar to Jaguar. Cheetah is another surprising omission. There was a Lamborghini Cheetah concept, but that's the only car this name was used on.
Monsterized 5pts Oh, like a plus... As almost all Mini sub-models start with letter C (except Paceman), I'd like to name a kind of hi-performance Mini sports car... something like "Mini JCW Constrictor" in honor to a snake found on a Mini in England before Mr. John Cooper passes away.-Mönst-
92Vectra1.6i 5pts How about the Mitsubishi WE'RESTILLHERE or the Mitsubishi WE'REOUTTAHERE if the current strategy of having subpar but overpriced products fails to catch on...
Raphael Chapman 5pts Mercedes Benz SLA class (a mazda MX-5 rival)Mercedes Benz R class (a mid engine sports car to rival various porsche modesl)Lamborghini Taurus/ El Toro (porsche 911 carrera S rival)Porsche 999GMC Crevice (an off road special response vehicle for rangers in the tundra or in other extreme terrain)Lexus LF-MR (Lexus,Future-Mid engine, RWD)Lotus Eldorado (front engine, RWD, Grand Touring car.)Chevrolet Caribbean (the name for the Code130R)Dodge Cavalry (a mid sized, RWD sedan, paying tribute to the De Soto)
92Vectra1.6i 5pts @Raphael Chapman While I doubt Packard will have much to say if Chevrolet uses their old model name, Cadillac might still have dibs on Eldorado.
Raphael Chapman 5pts @EBV3RYON oh yeah, thats right. in that case, make it the F class. F for Forza (Forza is italian for racing, or somtin' like it).
Raphael Chapman 5pts @92Vectra1.6i @Raphael Chapman for the Chevy model, i was going to use the name Crescent, but it just didn't sound youthful enough, i chose caribbean because young people like cars and young people like tropical places, so i thought Caribbean would be good, i didn't realize that Caribbean was used on a Packard. as for Eldorado, i tried to keep the lotus name with the E in the begining. i was thinking of El Capitan, but that would most likely work on a crossover or an SUV lotus might build in the future. i also thought of Emperor, but that would be a Full Sized Luxury sedan to rival the S class.
John_Woo 5pts I'm surprised "UNITED" has not been used, given names like Patriot and Liberty that are already out there.I used to wonder why California wasn't being used, but now they have the Ferrari California. But it seemed like such an obvious name for a domestic car. The Chevy California convertible. The Dodge Charger California. I am surprised that Commodore, used in Australia, has not been used in the U.S. GM has now avoided using it twice in the U.S.The G8? The SS? Why not just call it the Chevy Commodore and be done with it?

92Vectra1.6i 5pts @soonerlobo I like Dodge Ball (it could be a sort of rounded off Neon replacement) better....
TheCatholicBoat 5pts Dodge Colt would work if they wanted to go with the gun theme, although wasn't Colt used by someone in the 80s or 90s?
curiosity 5pts @TheCatholicBoat Yea it was a Dodge (80's). A rebadged Mitsubishi. Actually a cool little car.But the name wouldn't work for a gun theme today...has to have lots of clips.
abroome 5pts Chevy SuperSonic & HyperSonic, Chevy SuperNova, Jeep Willys (small jeep), Dodge Neon (sub-compact), etc etc.
