Acura MDX, RLX Get Groovy in New Retro Ads (W/Video)

By |   |
If you've ever wondered how a modern car might be advertised if it were transported back in time to the 1960s, Acura may have the answer for you with its latest MDX and RLX spots set to air on the web during the third season of Jerry Seinfeld's "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee."
More on Motortrend.com:
The eight retro-style commercials are meant to recall the wholesome, family-friendly ads of the '60s, but with a twist. Instead of selling you on the cars' more noteworthy features, the ads take a page out of Ron Burgundy's car commercial playbook and highlight common features like the 2014 Acura RLX's "all-metal exterior" and the MDX's "real nylon carpeting." In one ad, a group of astronauts arrive in an MDX, but miss their rocket launch because they're busy admiring the SUV's craftsmanship. In another, a scene intended to highlight the MDX's cargo space instead focuses on the potato salad that was left in the car all night. The next commercial shows the potato salad-loving family being wheeled into a hospital on gurneys. Check out the videos below to watch all of Acura's new commercials.

@LetsRace LOL! I couldn't agree more. Acura is in desperate need of new designers, not a quirky ad campaign.
